Job summary

GE Transportation (A Wabtec Company) in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join the design team. You will contribute to the technical engineering of assigned projects, ensuring scope, timely delivery, quality, and compliance with policies.

The role interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, supports cross-functional milestones, design reviews, prototypes, and field testing. A BS in Engineering is required; experience with CAD/FEA is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Responsibilities

Works within defined parameters to make decisions and apply concepts to issues of high complexity.
Provides direction and assistance to the engineering team in order to meet assigned objectives.
Documents technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Participates as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
Develops and fulfills the engineering planning for the assigned projects.
Attends/leads customer meetings (kick off, toll gates and final close out etc.).
Supports the advanced design and development of mechanical components.
Drives cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including design reviews, material orders, prototype builds, field testing and launch.
