Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking an entry-level mechanic trainee to join our network of skilled technicians. You will operate under the guidance of experienced mechanics and shop management to learn repairs and maintenance on our fleet.

This role emphasizes safety, hands-on learning, and adherence to procedures while offering opportunities for career growth into higher-level mechanic or management positions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment under supervision.
• Must possess strength to work in awkward positions.
• Physical activities include walking, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable MVR.
• Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Must be self-starting and organized with a good work ethic.
• Must be able to lift ~70 lbs. or more if required.
• Must comply with company policies and work well with others.
• Must be able to work independently or in a team and handle high priorities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders and assist with minor repairs under guidance of experienced mechanics.
• Assist with accessing required parts and tools to perform work.
• Assist with testing repaired equipment for proper performance and compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Employee may be asked to perform other duties as assigned due to operational needs.
