Job summary

Henny Penny Corporation in Michigan is seeking an entry level Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer I to design and support a wide range of commercial cooking equipment processes. Working under supervision, you will contribute to new products, improvements, and solving customer related problems.

This role encourages creative thinking and problem solving to address process issues on both new and mature products while building core engineering competencies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of manufacturing process experience.
• Ability to use hand tools and electric/air tools.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight for trainings and tradeshows.
• Basic MS Office, presentation, or PowerPoint skills.
• Basic 2D and 3D modeling, sheet metal, machining, and fabrication knowledge.
• Detail oriented and strong creativity skills.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing process improvements.
• Execute engineering tasks and documentation.
• Lead clearly defined projects involving a limited amount of complexity.
• Participate in regular reviews of work output.
• Apply knowledge to independently resolve problems and make minor changes.
• Develop all aspects of process design and implementation.
• Develop skills and product knowledge by working closely with more experienced engineers.
• Complete tasks that support the overall schedule and clearly communicate status.
• Provide Prototype and Pre-Production support.
• Maintain an organized and clean environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
