Job Title: Entry Level / Maintenance Technician

***Entry Level position*** We will train you! – paid on-the-job training - Day shift schedules with OT. As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform the change out of existing electric meters, install module upgrades to gas meters, and ensure the safe operation of company vehicle, equipment, and tools. You will work within time standards set by your supervisor and learn to use computer systems for planning and completing daily tasks.

Pay:

• $22.00 - $27.00 per hour depending on experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Change out electric meters and install gas meter upgrades.
• Work weekday and weekend shifts; overtime may be required.
• Report hazardous conditions to management.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond professionally to internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to read meters and learn new equipment and procedures.
• Obtain NY state OQ certifications (e.g., #6, #70, #85).
• Strong navigation skills using GPS tools.
• Computer and smartphone proficiency.
• Ability to navigate in congested areas.
• Manage time and workload independently.
• Minimum 40-hour workweek, including weather-related make-up days.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical/electrical experience preferred.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• At least 3 years of driving experience with minimal violations.

License & Certifications:

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Clean driving record.

Travel Requirements:

• Willingness to travel during the week; lodging provided.

Physical Requirements:

• Rare: squatting, crawling, climbing, etc.
• Occasional: stooping, lifting, carrying, etc.
• Frequent: standing, walking, sitting.
• Continuous: seeing, hearing, speaking.

Safety:

Work involves hazardous equipment; eyesight, attention, weather endurance, PPE use, and communication skills are essential for safety and performance.
