Job summary

UFP Industries in Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, and install equipment and facilities under direct supervision. This entry-level role involves keeping records and assisting with special projects.

Responsibilities include routine preventive maintenance, inspecting and repairing mechanical equipment, adhering to OSHA rules, and applying lock-out/tag-out practices. Candidates should be able to read basic schematics, use common hand and power tools, and work well

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Must be able to safely use hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other small tools.
• Willing to learn how to use measuring equipment to diagnose wear or damage in machine parts (0.001”).
• Familiarity with related hand tools and troubleshooting equipment.

Responsibilities

• This position performs routine tasks including scheduled preventative maintenance assigned by a supervisor.
• Inspects, repairs, and maintains mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Adheres to OSHA requirements in daily activities and follows lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Organizes parts and materials and communicates with the supervisor and team.
• Demonstrates strong troubleshooting skills and teamwork.
