Job summary

Select Genetics is seeking a Mechanic to maintain trucks, trailers, and delivery equipment in Terre Haute, IN. You'll perform inspections, minor repairs, and routine maintenance, using hand tools and basic mechanical equipment. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and biosecurity compliance.

Typical schedule is Mon–Fri with possible Saturdays, start around 7:00 AM, 8–9 hours per day, and pay based on experience. Training is available for the right candidate with mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with hand tools or mechanical work preferred.
• Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and repairs is a plus.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to recognize equipment problems and communicate them to a supervisor.
• Must follow company safety and biosecurity procedures.
• Must not own or operate around backyard poultry operations outside of work due to biosecurity requirements.

• Work as part of a team to keep equipment and operations running efficiently
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand, bend, squat, reach, grasp, push, and pull for extended periods
