Job summary

HEICO is seeking a machinist to learn and operate Lathe/Mill equipment, inspect parts, and document processes. You will read micrometers, bore gauges, and blueprints, and ensure parts meet Traveler specifications.

Responsibilities include setting up chucks, zeroing parts, lubricating equipment, and using PPE. Knowledge of grinding, dust systems, and safety rules is essential for this entry role in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must speak, read and write the English language.
• Should have basic computer software skills.
• Prior work experience in conventional machining (Mill/Lathe) helpful but not required.
• Should be able to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand the proper operation of your machine, reporting any problems to Management
• Use and be able to read micrometers, and bore gauges
• Center chucks on machine to accept parts for grinding
• Machine indicate or "zero" parts on machines
• Machine parts to the specifications called for on "Travelers"
• Properly lubricate grinding equipment and parts
• Operate a power hand tool to grind or buff parts
• Use proper hearing, eye, and foot protection as required
• Understand the potential exposures to metal filings and particles. Know and understand the dust recovery system and associated safety rules, and the potential exposures to grinding dust and dressing rock dust
• Learn the proper use of the dot welding machine
