Job summary

Product Evaluation Systems in Latrobe, PA is seeking a Full Time material preparation technician to ready incoming materials for testing. You will assist with cutting and machining prep, using saws and basic mills/lathes, ensuring proper specimen labeling and disposal per procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, organized workspace, verifying measurements with simple tools, and supporting occasional after-hours shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Competent with scale and other simple measuring tools.
• Experience with basic machining assistance and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Accept incoming orders and review cut sheets to determine first steps for machining.
• Prepare materials for testing or refined cuts using saws; assist Machinist II with mills and lathes.
• Review specimen numbers and determine disposal methods; sort excess material.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and report any repair needs.
• Work shifts as described (First 6am–2pm, Second 1pm–9pm) and support outside core hours when needed.
