Job summary

Merit Brass Company is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to join our team on the 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Friday). Prior experience is a plus but not required; we provide on‑the‑job training and opportunities to grow with the company.

Responsibilities include operating machines, following procedures, inspecting parts, and maintaining production documentation. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and data entry experience preferred.
• Ability to read measuring tools (rulers, micrometers, calipers).
• Strong attendance, punctuality, and work ethic.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift 50–70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Wear and use all required PPE.
• Interpret and verify parts against production tickets/travelers.
• Follow all production procedures and work instructions.
• Operate machines of various sizes as needed.
• Start and end production jobs using the data collection system.
• Perform quality inspections approximately every 20 minutes and document results.
• Communicate machine or quality issues to the setup operator or supervisor.
• Complete all required production documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area for the next shift.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
