Job summary

Kent Companies is seeking a Laborer for construction projects across the United States. You will perform physical tasks, operate hand and power tools, and assist with site prep and material handling under the supervision of the foreman/superintendent.

The role requires safety awareness, ability to lift up to 80 lb, pass background/drug checks, and reliable transportation to multiple job sites. We offer weekly pay and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license for driving to sites.
• Reliable transportation to job locations and sites.
• Ability to pass background check related to driving.
• Ability to pass drug screening as part of hire process.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Wear PPE (hard hat, high-visibility clothing) as required.
• Safely perform general labor on commercial sites with tools.
• Install and maintain fall protection and safety systems.
• Locate materials, supplies, and equipment on site.
• Walk on uneven surfaces; climb ladders, scaffold, shoring.
• Maintain equipment to keep it in safe working condition.
• Work in kneeling, crouching, or bent positions frequently.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Lift and break 80 lb bags into a hopper.
• Install sound mat materials and move cementitious materials.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pass background check and drug screening.
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Job description

Summary

The laborer performs physical labor tasks at building, residential, and heavy construction projects. These tasks may include operating hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, concrete vibrators, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, floor grinders, and various other equipment and instruments. The laborer may clean and prepare sites, place bulkheads, pour, level, and finish freshly placed underlayment product, use teamwork to meet daily established goals, fill out daily timesheets, and take direction from and coordinate with Kent's foreman/superintendent daily.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, high-visibility apparel, and additional protection as required by the task, e.g., a dust mask during mixing/pump operations.
• Safely perform general labor tasks on commercial construction sites with equipment, power tools, and common hand tools.
• Install and maintain fall protection, barricades, and other safety systems.
• Locate materials, supplies, equipment, and tools onsite and utilize them as directed to meet established production and quality goals.
• Walk and work on uneven surfaces as well as climb ladders, scaffold, and shoring on a frequent basis.
• Properly maintain all equipment and tools so that they are in a safe and reliable working condition.
• Work in a kneeling, crouching, or bent-over position on a frequent basis.
• Work in a variable environment, both indoors and outdoors as well as during inclement weather when required, including extreme cold/heat.
• Lift and break 80lb. bags into a hopper.
• Install sound mat materials.
• Pull material hoses on job sites and place cementitious materials with hoses.

• Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving (for any driver)
• Ability to pass drug screening.
