Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician

Element Staffing is recruiting for an Entry Level Lab Technician for a specialty chemical company in Concord, NC. The Lab Technician will be responsible for supporting the applications and research department through a variety of laboratory testing.

Duties/Responsibilities/Qualifications:

  1. Assist and support Analytical Chemists and other laboratory personnel in nonroutine testing.
  2. Prepare samples for analysis and perform analytical testing using extruders, particle size analyzers, colorimeters, melt flow index, draw downs, and other established procedures.
  3. Properly document results and assist in the development and improvement of laboratory SOPs.
  4. Maintain laboratory databases with new results for record keeping and reporting.
  5. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment according to the current maintenance schedule.
  6. Communicate results and activities to Lab Management, Production, Operations, and Customer Service.
  7. Participate actively and maintain compliance with company HSE policies.
  8. Assist with raw material stocks, inventory control, and general housekeeping.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the lab manager.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Science – Chemistry, Biology, or related field

Additional Details:

  • Shift: M-F, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Compensation: DOE
  • Assignment: Long-term contract with potential to convert to permanent full-time
  • Location: Concord, NC
