Qualifications

• BS or BA in a life or physical science is strongly preferred, or an AA/AS with MLT license.
• 1+ year of experience in a Laboratory Technician or Laboratory Assistant role.
• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques.
• Basic understanding of MS Office programs.
• Effective communication and strong organizational skills required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Ability to work in a biohazard environment and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Receives, organizes and processes clinical specimens accurately.
• Prepares data and documents for licensed technologists to review.
• Operates automated equipment per SOP and maintains records.
• Assists with equipment maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Responds to requests from pathologists, managers, technologists and staff.
