Job summary

Jacam Catalyst LLC is seeking an entry-level IT Security Analyst to monitor networks, endpoints, and logs, respond to incidents, and support vulnerability management. This hands-on role provides growth into more advanced security tasks under senior staff guidance.

You will gain experience with SIEM, endpoint protection, and security best practices, while developing skills in risk assessment, compliance, and security awareness across the organization.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Foundations: Working knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and general IT support concepts.
• Aptitude: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; willingness to learn.
• Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks, servers, endpoints, and logs for suspicious or anomalous activity.
• Escalate and assist in resolving security issues as they are identified.
• Help maintain and tune security tooling (SIEM, endpoint protection, email security).
• Respond to security alerts and incidents; assist with containment and remediation.
• Perform basic root-cause analysis to help prevent recurrence.
• Document incidents and maintain accurate response records.
• Run vulnerability scans and help coordinate remediation efforts.
• Track weak points and follow up with system owners on patching.
• Assist in coordinating periodic penetration tests.
• Evaluate systems for risk exposure and help ensure compliance with current policies.
• Support internal audits and security reviews.
• Assist with security awareness training and user education efforts.
