Job summary

Independent Software seeks an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support vulnerability management, security compliance, and continuous monitoring for mission-critical systems. You will configure Tenable.sc, Nessus, and Splunk, analyze findings, and drive remediation with system admins and ISSEs.

You will contribute to RMF, audits, and assessments, develop security dashboards and reports, and help maintain scanning policies and SOPs in a demanding 24x7 environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerability scanning and security compliance.
• Experience with Tenable.sc, Nessus, and Splunk.
• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs, RMF, and NIST 800-53.
• Knowledge of servers, virtualization, routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and network segmentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to respond to after-hours requests in a 24x7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, operate, and maintain Tenable.sc and Nessus.
• Conduct vulnerability and STIG compliance scans and troubleshoot scanning issues.
• Analyze findings and coordinate remediation with system administrators and ISSEs.
• Use Splunk to correlate security data and develop dashboards and compliance reports.
• Support RMF activities, continuous monitoring, patch verification, audits, and assessments.
• Develop and refine scanning policies, baselines, and SOPs.
• Test and evaluate system configurations in a lab environment.
• Provide security operations support as needed.
