Progressive Insurance is seeking an early-career insurance defense attorney for its Bodily Injury unit. This hybrid role allows in-person attendance mainly for litigation events, with travel for training and meetings as needed.

You will handle cases from inception to resolution, prepare pleadings and trial briefs, negotiate settlements, and coordinate with clients and claims partners to report on litigation progress while evaluating claim risk exposure.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM) required.
• Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas required.

Responsabilités

• Handle cases from start to finish in BI defense litigation for Progressive insureds and Progressive Insurance Companies.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs; participate in negotiating settlements.
• Prepare timely reports on litigation in collaboration with clients and claims partners.
• Analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records; assess value of claims to determine risk exposure.

As an early career insurance defense attorney within our bodily injury (BI) unit, you’ll be a part of our motor vehicle insurance defense litigation team, providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of litigation. Handling cases from beginning to end, you’ll also prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs and be involved in negotiating settlements. Additionally, you’ll work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation, ensuring all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes. Other tasks will include analyzing written discovery, depositions, medical records and assessing the value of claims to determine risk exposure.

This is a hybrid position. In-person attendance is generally limited to litigation-related events, with occasional travel required for training sessions, team meetings, and other business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM)
• Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas

Compensation

• $98,735 - $108,500/year
• Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
