Job summary

Entegris, Inc. in Colorado Springs is looking for a Set Up Technician I to start up and set up injection molding equipment and ensure production parts meet quality standards.

You will handle start-up cycles, inspect first pieces, monitor quality, and follow safety procedures while participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires HS degree or GED and basic math, with 1–2 years in plastics molding.

Qualifications

• HS degree or GED required.
• 1–2 years exposure to Plastic injection Molding, basic mathematics, systematic approach to trouble-shooting and problem-solving.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions.
• Ability to perform math computations and data entry.
• Demonstrate problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
• Ability to learn and operate related molding equipment (i.e. MTC, Robotic fixtures, etc).
• Focus on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; climb a ladder up to 15 ft, and walk and stand during entire shift.
• Ability to detect quality defects.

Responsibilities

• Starts up and cycles production equipment, ensuring proper adjustments to produce acceptable parts within standards.
• Periodically checks quality of parts produced.
• Completes the set-up schedule and cycle as planned.
• Ensures all products comply with Quality requirements and are handled per procedures.
• Completes first piece inspection process.
• Follows safety processes and procedures.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
• Removes molds and inspects, cleans and repairs before storing.
• Maintains all secondary and auxiliary equipment from the press area.
