The Role (What You'll Learn & Own)

This is more than an entry-level job—you'll begin developing the technical, diagnostic, and customer service skills required to become a successful residential HVAC Service Technician.

You will:

  • Perform residential HVAC maintenance and tune-ups
  • Assist with HVAC diagnostics and repairs
  • Learn how to properly troubleshoot heating and cooling systems
  • Inspect equipment for safety, performance, and potential concerns
  • Develop your understanding of electrical and mechanical HVAC components
  • Learn how to communicate system findings and recommendations professionally
  • Maintain accurate job notes, photos, and documentation
  • Deliver a professional customer experience
Key Responsibilities

HVAC Maintenance & Technical Development:

  • Perform routine maintenance on residential heating and cooling equipment
  • Inspect HVAC systems and components for proper operation
  • Clean and maintain equipment according to company procedures
  • Check filters, electrical connections, capacitors, motors, thermostats, drains, and other system components
  • Assist with diagnosing heating and cooling system issues
  • Learn proper HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures
  • Use meters, gauges, hand tools, and testing equipment appropriately
  • Develop the ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment specifications
  • Identify potential system concerns and communicate findings to experienced technicians or leadership
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and company service standards

Customer Experience:

  • Communicate professionally with homeowners
  • Explain maintenance performed and basic system findings within your level of training
  • Treat customers' homes and property with care and respect
  • Maintain clean and professional work areas
  • Develop strong customer communication and service skills
  • Deliver a 5-star customer experience from arrival through job completion

Training & Development:

  • Participate actively in company technical training
  • Apply coaching and feedback from trainers, managers, and experienced technicians
  • Continue developing HVAC diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Build knowledge of residential heating and cooling equipment
  • Develop electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Learn company processes, procedures, and service standards
  • Demonstrate consistent improvement in technical knowledge and field performance
  • Take ownership of your professional development and advancement

Performance & Accountability:

  • Complete assigned maintenance and training responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate job notes, photos, and documentation
  • Communicate job progress and concerns with dispatch and HVAC leadership
  • Take care of company-issued tools, equipment, vehicles, phones, and iPads

  • Apply training consistently in the field

Standards & Safety:

  • Follow company safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Follow applicable HVAC codes and manufacturer requirements
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and HVAC testing equipment
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow proper procedures when working around electrical, gas, heating, and cooling equipment
  • Immediately communicate safety concerns to leadership
  • Communicate effectively with HVAC leadership, dispatch, warehouse, and other team members
  • Work alongside experienced technicians and trainers
  • Ask questions and seek guidance when needed
  • Accept coaching and constructive feedback
  • Assist other team members as needed
  • Support team goals and contribute to a positive, accountable work environment
What We're Looking For
  • 21+ years old with a valid driver's license and insurable record
