Job summary

Hoyle Tanner has an opening for an Entry Level Highway Engineer in our Ground Transportation Division. The position is based out of our Manchester, NH office, where you will join a team of highway design professionals delivering creative, cost-effective and quality solutions for communities.

You will design and prepare calculations, plans and specifications for state and municipal highway projects, work with a project engineer or manager, and contribute to multi-discipline teams while growing

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred)
• EIT/EI preferred, or ability to obtain
• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Salary is contingent on experience

Responsibilities

• Design and preparation of calculations, plans and specification for State and Municipal Highway projects
• Complete assignments with direction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager
• Work as part of an integrated, multi-discipline team to solve technical challenges
• Use software and other tools to develop designs and organize work
• Gather, research and maintain engineering records including tests, drawings and field data
• May attend inspections, site visits and meetings with clients and contractors for highway projects under construction
• May be responsible for construction observation and limited administration
• Read and understand technical drawings and specifications
• Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills
• Increase knowledge through continuous learning within and outside the organization including pursuit of an advanced engineering degree and/or certification
