Job summary

Airtight Energy Consulting, Inc. is a small but growing company that provides HERS ratings, Passive House consulting and verification, and energy code assistance to developers, architects, contractors and others involved in the design and construction of multifamily buildings, single family homes, and commercial buildings.

This entry-level position will focus on HERS ratings for single-family homes and providing support to other staff performing ENERGY STAR, Passive House, and Enterprise Green

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in science, engineering, architecture, building technology, or similar.
• 1 year of experience in design, construction, energy efficiency, engineering, or project management is preferred.
• Experience using Sketchup or other drawing software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and lighting plans and specs.
• Perform take-offs of envelope, mechanical, plumbing, and lighting systems.
• Create 3D SketchUp models for various building types.
• Review and apply high performance and green building standards to projects.
• Perform HERS ratings for single-family homes and small multifamily buildings.
• Provide project management and building science advice for small projects.
• Perform on-site inspections for single-family homes and small multifamily buildings.
• Conduct blower door, duct leakage, and ventilation testing using diagnostic equipment.
