Job summary

The United States Army Reserve seeks a Horizontal Construction Engineer (12N) to operate bulldozers, cranes and other heavy equipment to prepare and level earth for construction projects. Training and hands-on field experience are core parts of the role.

Responsibilities include executing grade stakes, transporting equipment, and supporting combat engineer missions. A strong preference for outdoor work and practical hands-on skills is noted.

Qualifications

• ASVAB General Maintenance (GM): 90
• Must be physically able to operate heavy equipment
• Willing to complete Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training

Responsibilities

• Analyze the information on grade stakes and placing them
• Drive bulldozers, roadgraders and other heavy equipment to level earth
• Clear, grub, strip, excavate, backfill, stockpile and push scraper with tractor crawler
• Cut and spread fill material with scraper
• Transport heavy construction equipment with tractor-trailer
• Assist in performance of combat engineer missions
