Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners seeks a Medical Records/Health Information Management Specialist to work onsite at our Illinois facility. This entry-level role offers bonus incentives, tuition reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits, with part-time daytime hours and pay between $18.65–$19.90 per hour based on experience.

You will analyze records, follow up on missing documentation, and ensure accurate charting in the EMR while aligning with CMS and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• CMS knowledge and Joint Commission regulations preferred.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Healthcare Revenue Cycle experience preferred (acute care HIM).
• Must be inquisitive and open to AI-driven process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Completes analysis/reanalysis of all records accurately and timely.
• Completes accounts from EMR Waiting for Documentation and Missing Document work queues when missing documentation is received.
• Follow-up with ancillary/nursing departments for missing documentation.
• Follow-up with providers regarding missing documentation/dictation preventing the account from being coded.
• Completes unbilled spreadsheet with updates regarding the status of missing documentation and sends to management.
• Reviews medical record documentation in EMR and creates charting deficiencies in the deficiency management system.
• Actively manages various analysis-specific work queues to ensure timely analysis and chart completion.
• Adheres to company standards/workflow guidelines to assign accounts to appropriate work queues.
• Identifies systematic problems and routes to the Manager for resolution.
• Reports issues and trends not complying with policies.
• Documents all workflows and alterations to processes implemented or enhanced.
• Other duties as assigned.
