Job summary

Irvine Company is seeking an entry-level Greenskeeper I to assist with daily golf course maintenance and turf care in Irvine, California. This role supports the maintenance team under direct supervision to deliver high-quality playing conditions.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, irrigation help, course setup, and safety compliance. A valid California driver's license is required, with 0-2 years of relevant experience and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
• Valid California driver’s license required.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other turf areas using mowers.
• Perform basic turf maintenance: edging, trimming, blowing, raking bunkers, hand-watering.
• Assist with course setup: move tee markers, hole locations, signage, rope placement.
• Maintain bunkers by raking, edging, and repairing washouts.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, adjustment, and minor repairs.
• Help with fertilization, seeding, aeration, topdressing, pest control activities.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and small equipment safely.
• Clean and perform basic maintenance on equipment and work areas.
• Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or turf conditions to supervisors.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and departmental policies.
