Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an entry-level GIS Technician to support designers, engineers, GIS management and other staff. The role involves creating cartographic displays, updating GIS data, and aiding in project tracking using ESRI ArcGIS Online.

You will work in a production team environment with QA/QC focus and strict deadlines. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (AA/AS preferred) and 0–2 years of GIS/CAD experience; further GIS certification or a bachelor’s degree in GIS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Entry-level GIS position requiring basic GIS program knowledge.
• Experience in cartography and producing technical drawings preferred.
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation.
• Develop web-based mapping tools and dashboards.
• Maintain graphical features in client GIS systems (ArcFM, Intergraph FRAMME, Small World, G-Tech).
• Learn client construction standards and GIS information systems.
• Maintain drawing standards (fonts, line weights, naming conventions).
• Prepare documentation and reports using MS Word/Excel/Access, Fulcrum, Nitro Pro, Adobe Acrobat.
• Assist with field data collection tools and GPS post-processing.
• Support client mapping applications through data gathering and updates.
