Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Field Engineer to join our Kennesaw, Georgia office. This field-focused role offers hands-on exposure to drilling operations, soils/rock classifications, field testing, and geotechnical reporting, under the supervision of Professional Engineers.

Ideal for recent graduates with EIT or who can obtain it within three months; 0–3 years experience welcomed. Valid driver’s license required; travel to field sites will be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 0–3 years of applicable experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within three months.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and help coordinate geotechnical field investigations for diverse development and construction projects.
• Observe drilling operations and document subsurface conditions encountered.
• Perform soil, rock, and geological classifications from drill samples.
• Operate and maintain geotechnical field testing and investigation equipment.
• Prepare field logs, boring logs, and related records.
