Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to be based in Piscataway, NJ or New York City, NY, with an anticipated start in June 2027. The role involves building analytic and design skills, conducting engineering design under supervision, and producing geotechnical reports as part of a larger team.

Responsibilities include data collection, soil/rock sampling, soil profiling, and applying geotechnical software tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• Master’s of Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• EIT certification preferred.

AECOMis seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer position to be based in Piscataway, NJ or New York City, NY.

This position is expected to start June 2027.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Builds analytic and design skills.
• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, final working drawings and Geotechnical reports under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Performs Geotechnical investigation collecting and describing soil/rock samples in the field.
• Creates soil profiles based on data collected during the subsurface investigation program.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems including but not limited to foundation, retaining wall and support of excavation design, slope stability and seepage analysis.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s of Geotechnical Engineering
• EIT
