Job summary

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) in Williamsport, PA, is seeking a Junior Geologist, Scientist or Pre-Construction Sampler. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on field experience on projects across Pennsylvania and is ideal for recent graduates aiming to develop skills in environmental fieldwork.

You will conduct water, soil, and air sampling, document fieldwork, and collaborate with a team while learning to operate field equipment and manage client expectations under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Internship or 1+ years of relevant experience welcome.
• Residing in or near Williamsport, PA.
• Willingness to complete OSHA HAZWOPER training and work safely with PPE.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct water, soil, and/or air sampling, site inspections, and other field services independently and as part of a field team.
• Capture clear, legible, accurate, and legally‑defensible field documentation using established procedures in handwritten and software methods.
• Calibrate and maintain field equipment.
• Prepare project documentation such as client reports, landowner reports, summary tables, photo logs, and maps.
• Build professional relationships with team members, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Follow all safety protocols and promptly communicate any safety concerns.
• Support a range of field and office tasks as assigned by the field services manager, project manager, or supervisor.
