Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is hiring a dependable Entry Level Generator Technician to join our growing team.

This field-based role is ideal for candidates with mechanical and electrical repair experience—particularly with small engines, standby generators, or automatic transfer switches (ATS). Travel to residential job sites using a company vehicle; perform full install on whole-home standby generators; troubleshoot electrical components; read diagrams; communicate with customers; document

Qualifications

• 1+ years of generator electrical work experience.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
• Comfortable working in the field with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically able to perform duties including climbing ladders and lifting.
• Familiarity with residential generator systems and ATS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform complete install on whole-home standby generators.
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Communicate with customers regarding services and recommendations.
• Document all work in our service management software.
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices around electricity.
• Support emergency service calls during outages or storms.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to residential job sites using a company-provided service vehicle
• Perform complete install on whole-home standby generators
• Troubleshoot and service mechanical and electrical components, including ATS systems
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Clearly communicate with customers regarding services performed and any recommendations
• Accurately document all work in our service management software
• Follow safety protocols and industry best practices when working around electricity
• Support emergency service calls during weather-related outages or storms, as needed
