Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Louisiana is seeking an entry-level General Machinist C to operate and set up CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders) and perform semi-complex operations guided by engineering drawings. You will work with standard fixtures, robotics, and automation to produce precise parts.

You will inspect parts with precision tools, perform rework and deburring, and adapt to 1st or 2nd shift per union rules.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Six months to two years' experience or equivalent trades training.
• Ability to operate CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings using GD&T.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift per agreement.
• Able to lift 30 lbs unassisted and stand up to 4 hours.
• U.S. citizen due to site access.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders) for semi-complex parts.
• Set up machines with standard fixtures, robotics, and automation.
• Inspect parts with precision measuring equipment for accuracy.
• Perform rework, cleaning, and deburring as required.
• Follow engineering drawings and instructions to ensure part accuracy.
