Collaborate with a team of hardware and systems engineers to design, verify, and integrate FPGAs for avionics hardware. As an Entry Level FPGA Design/Verification Engineer, you will support the full FPGA design lifecycle across Xilinx, Microsemi, and other device families, following the DO-254 design process. Based in Grand Rapids, MI, you will work in a team environment. Your work will take FPGA designs from requirements through simulation, documentation, and integration into circuit card assemblies. This role offers hands‑on ownership of well‑defined tasks with room to grow. You will use your technical foundation and judgment to complete standard design and verification work, flex your task sequence as priorities change, and ask senior engineers for guidance when issues fall outside established procedures.
You are an early-career FPGA engineer who is comfortable with both design and verification and familiar with DO-254 discipline for avionics hardware. You take care with the quality of your own work and the work of others on the team. You also see how your FPGA fits into the circuit card assembly and the larger system. You are curious and eager to learn. You communicate clearly in writing and in conversation. You work well within a defined framework, and you know when to ask for help. You document, plan, and follow through on your commitments.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
