McLane Company, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Mechanic I to perform tasks across the wash bay, fuel island, and yard maintenance. You’ll assist other mechanics and may perform minor repairs under supervision.

Key duties include preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers, light repairs, and diagnostic work. A valid license, English literacy, and a willingness to learn are required for this entry-level role. Full-time hours with rotating on-call availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Tech School training preferred.
• Possess a valid Class C Drivers License.
• 2 years experience in preventative maintenance and minor repairs on tractors/trailers, some electrical diagnostics and tire work.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at work level.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Conduct light repairs and minor electrical repairs.
• Pressure test and diagnose coolant systems.
• Check alignments and diagnose problems.
• Drive tractors and tractor-trailer combinations or be trained to do so.
• Read maintenance lists and stay current on maintenance due.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor and peers.
• Adhere to safety and attendance policies.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and equipment.
