Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Field Technician to support high-end residential remodel projects in the West Metro area, based in Wayzata, MN. You will primarily execute finish carpentry tasks—installing doors, millwork, trim, and cabinets—while assisting with light framing and demolition as needed.

The role starts with hands-on support to journeyman carpenters and grows toward more complex carpentry responsibilities as you develop.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience in carpentry or construction, particularly residential remodels.
Practical knowledge of finish carpentry including doors, millwork, trim, and cabinet installation.
Ability to perform light stick framing tasks under guidance of journeymen.
Experience with demolition work and safe demo practices.
Familiarity with carpentry tools and equipment, hand and power tools.
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Desire for long-term growth in the carpentry trade.

Responsibilities

Support journeyman carpenters on high-end remodel projects in the West Metro area.
Retrieve, organize, and stage materials and tools needed by journeyman carpenters.
Perform finish carpentry tasks, including installing doors, millwork, trim, and cabinets.
Assist with demolition work, ensuring safe and efficient removal of existing structures and finishes.
Carry out light stick framing tasks under direction, including basic structural framing and layout.
Follow project plans and directions to complete carpentry tasks accurately and on schedule.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout each project.
Use hand and power tools appropriately and safely in accordance with company and site guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to ensure high‑quality workmanship and a smooth project workflow.
Demonstrate reliability and a long‑term commitment to learning and growing within the carpentry trade.
