Job summary

SGS in Mobile, AL is seeking a Field Operations Technician I to collect samples, observe processing stages, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. You will transfer samples to the lab, label data, and ensure accurate documentation of locations and times.

The role requires strict adherence to PPE and safety procedures. Under supervision, you will perform basic screening, operate standard lab support equipment, and assist with duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Language Skills: Intermediate English required (Advanced preferred).
• Mathematical skills: Basic required (Intermediate preferred).
• Reasoning: Intermediate level, logical approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing or verbally with customers.
• Ability to follow directions to ensure accuracy and deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from products or materials for lab analysis.
• Label containers with sample data, location, date and time.
• Deliver samples to laboratory for analysis.
• Prepare samples and perform initial screening and basic tests.
• Maintain clean and organized equipment and PPE usage.
• Follow local and federal safety procedures at all times.
• Perform additional duties as needed by the business.
