Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Atlanta, GA is seeking an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Apprentice. This hourly position offers hands-on training in facility operations, preventive maintenance, building systems, safety practices, and maintenance coordination and administration.

The role emphasizes safety, attendance, and the ability to learn to work with motors, drives, PLCs, wiring schematics, and mechanical/electrical tasks.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; skilled training is a plus.
• Willingness to work 8- or 10-hour shifts; shift flexibility.
• Strong safety attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Coordinate maintenance work orders and track status.
• Assist with mechanical repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and basic PLC supports.
• Maintain tool room inventory and manage parts.
• Generate maintenance reports and KPIs.
