Job summary

Aerotek in Seattle is looking for an Entry-Level Facilities Technician who is mechanically inclined and eager to learn. This is a contract-to-hire role with on-site work at two locations (South Lake Union and Pioneer Square).

Training is provided, and no extensive prior maintenance experience is required. The ideal candidate will handle basic mechanical tasks, use hand tools, and support preventive maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are the biggest requirements.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Comfortable working with hand tools and performing hands-on work.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems.
• Reliable and able to work independently as training progresses.
• Comfortable lifting 100+ lbs.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Open to learning building maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical repairs, plumbing, painting, lighting, HVAC, and VAV systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Learn to troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical and electrical issues.
• Assist with general maintenance, including plumbing, painting, lighting, and building repairs.
• Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance concerns.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Provide professional customer service when interacting with residents, guests, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with the maintenance team through verbal, written, and email communication.
• Learn facility systems and maintenance procedures through hands-on training.
