Job summary

The Kendall Group in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Fabrication Operator to support the fabrication department. You will cut, thread, groove, test and bundle pipe and fittings to meet customer specifications, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

This role reports to the Fabrication Manager and requires teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include learning warehouse equipment operation, performing quality checks, and maintaining housekeeping and safety standards while following

Qualifications

• Entry level work experience acceptable.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic math and reasoning skills with bar code scanning.
• Excellent work ethic with strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team under Fabrication Manager direction.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a noisy shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Support materials management in fabrication.
• Cut, thread, groove, test and bundle pipe and fittings to specs.
• Read job prints and lay out materials per measurements.
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained (forklifts, cranes, etc.).
• Participate in safety initiatives and housekeeping.
• Assist in quality testing and product painting as needed.
