Job summary

ERG is seeking an entry-level environmental professional to support projects within our Water Practice in Washington. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with interests in water resources, water quality, and wastewater management, with coursework in water resources required.

The candidate will provide project-level support across a range of technical and analytical water projects. Engineering candidates will commit to completing the process to obtain their Professional Engineering (PE)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with focus on water/wastewater.
• 0–1 year of professional experience requested.
• GPA 3.0 minimum (transcripts required).
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Data analysis skills using Excel and R.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Academic or internship experience in water programs or environmental consulting.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and project support across ERG’s water projects.
• Assist with data collection, analysis related to water resources, water quality, and wastewater management.
• Prepare technical reports and project deliverables.

Documented coursework in water resources and/or wastewater management is required. The selected candidate will provide project-level support across a range of technical and analytical water projects. Engineering candidates selected candidate will commit to completing the process to obtain their Professional Engineering (PE) certificate.

Job Description:

• Provide technical and project support across ERG’s water projects
• Assist with research, data collection, and analysis related to water resources, water quality, wastewater management, and water and wastewater treatment
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project deliverables
• Analyze water and wastewater treatment needs, treatment performance. and costs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and project managers to support client objectives
• Assist with project coordination and administrative tasks that support successful project execution

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field with a focus on water/wastewater
• 0-1 years of professional experience
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required)
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Strong data analysis skills including advanced Excel functions and R
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Academic coursework or research experience related to wastewater, water resources, or water quality
• Internship or project experience in environmental consulting, water management, or related fields
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance frameworks related to water programs
