Tenaska is seeking an Energy Accountant to perform monthly financial accounting and invoicing, generate management reports, and handle customer inquiries related to billing and payments. This role emphasizes accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and collaboration with various teams.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 0–2 years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills; CPA or Master’s degree is a plus. Some energy market knowledge is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Zero to two years of Accounting experience.
• Power industry experience preferred.
• Experience with Excel and MS Office.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and detail-oriented mindset.
• Self-starter with initiative and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, and distributes monthly customer invoices and reports.
• Communicates with customers to ensure timely payments and issue resolution.
• Corresponds with employees and management on accounting procedures.
• Prepares journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Completes account reconciliations and schedules.
• Prepares management reports in spreadsheets.
• Participates in process improvement and system enhancements.
• Develops knowledge of the wholesale electricity market and TPS energy trading/management.
