Job summary

GM's Vehicle Software and Electronics Engineering group is seeking software engineers with passion for controls and embedded software. You will design, implement, test and architect software across the vehicle portfolio and ecosystem, from Low level SW to Cloud/Edge, contributing to GM's vision of Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion.

The role is hybrid and based in southeast Michigan (Warren and Milford).

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Graduating between December 2026 and June 2027.
• Ability to work in southeast Michigan.
• Proficient in C, C++ programming languages.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for embedded controls systems across vehicle domains.
• Adhere to design principles and hardware abstractions for software solutions.
• Test and demonstrate software functionality and readiness.
• Document requirements linked to test cases.
• Use automated test tools in builds, benches and vehicles.
• Collaborate as an Agile Scrum team member to deliver software.
