Job summary

Cherokee Elementary School in Paradise Valley, Arizona is seeking an entry-level Limited Appointment Instructional Support Assistant to help certified teachers with classroom activities and supervise students during instructional times. Responsibilities include preparing materials, setting up activities, shelving books, assisting with personal hygiene activities, and communicating with parents as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and basic First Aid/CPR certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher by helping with classroom instruction and working with children during instructional activities.
• Monitors children’s behavior inside and outside of the classroom.
• Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activate.
• Prepares classroom for activities, including organizing assignments and preparing homework folders.
• Attends a variety of meetings and in-service training sessions.
• Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and makes copies.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
