Actalent in Akron, OH is seeking an Entry Level Electronics Technician to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical gas and temperature monitoring equipment in a lab and manufacturing setting.

You will learn soldering, use a digital voltmeter and Windows Excel for data entry, and grow into more complex tasks while supporting production, repair, and shipping needs. This on-site role offers OT opportunities and a strong focus on quality.

• Familiarity with electronics testing tools and equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital voltmeters, or an interest in learning to use them.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, including asking questions, accepting and applying constructive feedback, and assisting others when needed.
• Demonstrated accountability and initiative in maintaining consistent work habits and supporting production goals.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and communicate missing parts, quality concerns, or other issues that could delay completion of assigned work.
• Participate in team meetings, technical training sessions, and process improvement initiatives, applying constructive feedback and building consistent, reliable work habits.
• Remain aware of production requirements and support other departments with related tasks as priorities change.
• Contribute to the goal of returning customer equipment within targeted turnaround times by completing assigned work accurately and promptly, communicating delays, and requesting help when needed.

Job Title: Entry Level Electronics Technician

This entry-level role is a hands-on position in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, focused on assembling, testing, and performing basic troubleshooting of electromechanical gas and temperature monitoring equipment used in landfill monitoring operations. The position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, and it offers product-specific and on-the-job training under the guidance of experienced technicians. As your technical skills grow, you will progressively take on more complex tasks and greater responsibility while contributing to the timely repair and production of customer equipment.

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite in a laboratory and manufacturing setting that focuses on electromechanical gas and temperature monitoring equipment for landfill operations. You will work with small electronic components, common hand tools, soldering equipment, digital voltmeters, and Windows-based testing applications, including Excel for recording results. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with an expectation that work areas are kept orderly to support efficient production and repair activities. The schedule may include standard full-time hours with the flexibility to work additional hours, potentially up to about 10 hours per week of overtime, when needed to complete priority work, with applicable overtime pay. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
