Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking Test Assistants to join our Electrical Power Services team in Kansas City, MO. The Test Assistant supports inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of electrical power distribution equipment in commercial, industrial, and utility environments.

This role operates under the direction of senior technicians and engineers, with NETA Level I trainee-level knowledge encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with basic electrical knowledge.
• 0–2 years of related electrical, field service, testing, or maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, arc-flash, and basic electrical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning support for LV/MV systems.
• Set up and operate test equipment under supervision and record data for reports.
• Read basic drawings and schematics and maintain tools and jobsite materials safely.
• Follow safety policies, lockout/tagout, and energized-work controls; travel as needed.
