Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Texas seeks entry-level assistants to support skilled craftspersons under supervision. You will learn to read drawings, measure, cut, bend, install conduit, weld supports, and help test and start up systems, working with high and low voltage.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic tool knowledge, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions. The role requires physical work, outdoor conditions, and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or in progress.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to interpret drawings, sketches, plans and determine best work procedures.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling and installing conduit.
• Assist with installation of control and distribution apparatus and secure in place.
• Assist with testing and startup of systems and circuit continuity.
• Observe equipment function to identify hazards and needed adjustments.
• Pull wires through conduit and connect to fixtures and equipment as needed.
• Work with both high and low voltage systems.
• Assist with disassembly and repair of defective electrical equipment.
• Learn to operate hand tools, power tools, hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
