Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking an entry-level hardware engineer (<1 year experience) to join our team in San Diego, CA. This on-site role involves building, testing, and analyzing hardware results, updating procedures, and coordinating with mechanical and electrical engineering teams within C4ISR solutions to support warfighter missions.

The position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, US citizenship, and a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a regionally accredited university.
  • No more than 6 months of full-time engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain US security clearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; collaborative work style.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with fast learning ability.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test, analyze F-16 and F-2 equipment results; update test procedures and document results.
  • Research hardware, order parts, and manage parts lists; communicate with manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams on C4ISR solutions.
  • Support development of systems to sense, control, exploit and disseminate information to warfighters.

BAE Systems is looking for an entry-level/junior Hardware Engineer ( < 1 year experience ) to join our team beginning in Summer 2027.

In a rapid development environment, the qualified candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Tasks may include building, testing, analyzing F-16 and F-2 equipment results, running through and updating test procedures and confirming results, documenting parts and part lists, researching hardware, ordering parts, and communicating with manufacturing, working with different teams such as mechanical and electrical engineering teams.

In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions, you’ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelors

Required Education, Experience, And Skills
  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from a regionally accredited University.
  • No more than 6 months of full time engineering experience (not including internships).
  • Ability to be granted security clearance by the US Federal Government.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude, the ability to be productive in a dynamic/ collaborative environment, and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A self-motivated and fast learner who seeks challenges and supports the team initiative.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Someone who enjoys hands on work with electronics in addition to theory.
  • GPA 3.0 and above (Cumulative and major).
  • Currently holds a security clearance.
  • Experience with (or desire to learn): Phase Noise Analyzer (PNA), Spectrum Analyzer, RF Signal Generator, Power Meter, Oscilloscope, Power Supplies, etc.
  • Communication skills. Will be taking direction and doing work for Engineers in the group.
  • Detail oriented as they will be analyzing data and reviewing schematics.
  • A willingness to reach out to people, with questions and proactively provide updates on tasking.
  • Understanding of military specifications.
  • Working knowledge of requirements.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $64926 - $110374
