Job summary

ERock is seeking a Commissioning Technician (Electrical) to support the commissioning of microgrid generation systems and ensure high reliability from site construction through equipment lifecycle.

You will troubleshoot electrical issues, coordinate with the Commissioning Lead, and collaborate with Ops, Management, and the Microgrid Control Center to meet customer demands for on-demand power. Strong documentation and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade/technical program preferred; hands-on experience accepted.
• 0–2 years of relevant hands-on experience or completion of a technical/trade program.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Strong multitasking and time management skills with minimal supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication; reliable teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform wiring terminations inside switchgear, control panels, and generator units.
• Inspect and test low and medium voltage systems for proper operation.
• Support distribution cutover to deliver power to customers.
• Collaborate on protection relay testing with third-party testers.
• Assist initial testing, start-up, and paralleling of 480V natural gas generators.
• Serve as primary contact for system control and equipment operability.
• Commission microgrids and conduct operational testing.
• Document all commissioning activities using designated software.
