Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Entry-Level Drilling / Exploration Technician to support geotechnical and environmental drilling operations, learn core skills, and grow into a long-term role in exploration services. You will assist with sampling, groundwater monitoring well installation, equipment operation, and field investigations in a safety-focused environment.

The position offers year-round employment with regional travel opportunities and hands-on technical training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Driller with daily drilling and exploration activities at client project sites.
• Support soil, rock, and groundwater sampling operations for geotechnical and environmental investigations.
• Learn to operate and maintain drilling equipment, tooling, augers, and related machinery.
• Help install groundwater monitoring wells and collect field data.
• Drive medium-duty trucks and transport equipment to and from job sites.
• Perform equipment inspections, maintenance, and job site setup activities.
• Read and interpret basic civil, construction, and geotechnical plans.
• Participate in pre-task planning and adhere to all company safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate field notes and assist with quality control processes.
• Travel regionally and occasionally nationwide to support project needs, with per diem provided.
