Job summary

Schneider in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Diesel Technician Support role to provide general mechanical assistance to diesel technicians and perform routine maintenance on trucks and trailers.

You will handle non-technical tasks such as parts stocking, inventory counting and parts pickups, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. shift.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and basic software.
• Must provide own tools within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide general, non-diagnostic mechanical assistance to diesel technicians.
• Handle routine maintenance on trucks and trailers.
• Perform non-technical tasks such as parts stocking, inventory counting and parts pickups.
• Assist higher skilled technicians on tractor and trailer repairs.
• Replace lights, tires, fuel filters, air filters, mud flaps and mud flap brackets.
• Perform routine cleaning of the shop and equipment.
• Use a computer to create, track and complete work orders.
• Maintain and stock parts inventory.
• Use a forklift and company vehicles to pick up, unload and stock parts.
• Communicate with internal customers on repairs stances.

Skills
