Ryder System, Inc. in Allentown, PA is hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician. The role offers weekly pay, benefits after 30 days, and training to work on heavy-duty vehicles with advanced diagnostics and tools.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, first shift, with weekends off and opportunities for merit-based increases and tuition support. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent; basic tools; and CDL A preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more experience in transportation maintenance preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance.
• Performs component identification and minor repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Perform all entry level tasks.
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Hourly Pay:$22.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year

• Hours: First Shift 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic tools, required
• One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred
• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
