Job summary

Interstate Power System's in Grand Forks, ND seeks entry level diesel technicians for hands-on training with experienced staff on heavy‑duty trucks. Starting pay is $22–$29 per hour DOE, with a Monday–Friday schedule and opportunities for certification and career growth.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, a positive attitude, solid communication skills, and a willingness to learn using diagnostic computers and company tools. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to learn and grow with heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to use diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Must have your own general tools.
• Willingness to engage in certification opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on heavy-duty trucks.
• Learn and perform PM tasks: oil changes, lights, brakes, A/C, tires.
• Diagnose, repair and adjust components under supervision.
• Coordinate with service writers, foreman, parts and customers.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation upon completion.

Interstate Power System's is looking for Entry Level Diesel Technicians at our Grand Forks North Dakota location. If you are looking for a career that will provide you valuable on the job and classroom training then we want you!

Scheduled Shift: Monday-Friday

Pay Range: $22 - $29 per hour DOE

Mechanic Job Duties

• This is an Entry Level position, developing and learning a skilled trade while working with Factory Trained/Certified Technicians.
• Entry level troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all types of trucks
• PM work, oil changes, lights, A/C, brakes, tire changes, basic tech work!
• Will train and grow entry level techs into full blown diesel techs
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all heavy duty components
• Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department and customers
• Keep paper work updated and handed in upon completion

Desired Skills And Qualities

• Technical degree or certification a plus
• Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them
• The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training
• Solid written and verbal communication skills

Position Requirements For Mechanics
