Responsibilities

• The sonographer performs ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider.
• Provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to questions and concerns.
• Recognizes the patient’s individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment.
• Maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, including continuing education and recredentialing.
• Performs diverse imaging across the spectrum of sonography in the department of Radiology.
