Job summary

Peraton is seeking entry-level DevOps Engineers for our Herndon, VA location to support a large software development classified program. You will help develop, operate, and maintain mission-critical enterprise capabilities, with modern cloud-native, microservice-based products in a fast-paced Agile DevOps environment.

The role emphasizes building CI/CD pipelines, scripting with Jenkins, and integrating with tools across AWS, Linux EC2, RDS, and CloudFormation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related STEM field and 0–2 years of experience.
• May/June 2027 grads are welcome to apply.
• Strong foundational knowledge in Java OOP development.
• Willingness to learn and contribute as a team member.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop CI/CD Build and Deployment Pipelines.
• Write/modify Jenkins-based groovy scripts.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues across Jenkins and AWS Environments.
• Document key features for developer use.
• Automate installations of COTS products into the architecture.
• Debug integration issues.
• Identify deployment issues, including API Server to Database connectivity.
• Integrate with DevOps tools (SonarQube, Fortify, Jenkins, Robot Framework/Selenium, Artifactory).
